Work From Home Jobs – Typing

Work from home typing jobs are one of the most common work at home jobs out there.  Technically speaking, we’re talking about transcription services.

Medical transcriptionists, for example, work from home by transcribing the recordings of medical records that doctors make.  Other types of transcription work would be to type out the minutes of board meetings, interviews, conference calls or seminars or other audio events.

This type of work often leads towards administrative work or work as a ‘virtual assistant’ which would, of course encompass duties beyond just typing.

The benefits of such an arrangement are numerous.  You get to skip the commute, stay in your pajamas all day, if you wish and no one is looking over your shoulder.  You listen to whatever music you like and you can catch your favorite TV show if you want as long as you get the work done.

These types of situations are highly sought after by moms who chose to stay at home with their children but want to make a living while they do it.  You will also find that it is more cost effective.  I joke about working in your pajamas but you don’t need an expensive wardrobe or its associated expenses, you also don’t spend money on gas, tolls or parking.  Your meals will be prepared at home and that is a great cost savings, right there.

If typing as a work from home jobs is so great, how do you get one?  Well, the reality is that you probably need a background in office work and more specifically in transcription.  There are opportunities in the medical transcription arena but you will need to prove that you have some familiarity with medical terminology.

Because typing/transcription as a work at home job is so desirable and possibly lucrative, there is a lot of competition for the available work.  It is not, as many online marketers would claim, easy to get a typing job.  The more experience you have in the field, the easier it will be, because you outshine the competition, but it won’t be easy.

Be particularly wary of training programs that promise you a job when you are done.  Unless they are the ones hiring, that kind of promise is illegal.  If you decide to get training it is recommended you attend an accredited local community college – not some book you bought online. Your teacher will most likely be in contact with people who actually do hire for this kind of work.

Keep in mind, this is a job and must be treated as one.  If you are lucky enough to get one, a medical transcriptionist job does require a certain amount of professionalism.  If the demands of your children interfere with your ability to get the job done, you may find yourself looking for a new job soon.

Work From Home Jobs – Writing Online

Tag: Working ResourcesGuest Author @ 8:11 pm

Here is a simple work from home job that you don’t need to apply for.  In fact.  I guarantee you’ll get paid, too.  Drum roll, please.

Writing.

A lot of people scoff at the entire idea but websites like this and everything you read online was written by someone.  Pick a topic you are interested in and write four or five articles about it.

Follow a standard format– Introduction, Point #1, Point #2, Point #3, Conclusion – and make sure each article  is at least 350 words long.  Submit each one to AssociatedContent.com and await your payment.  When you submit your articles you’ll be asked if you want to give all rights to AssociatedContent in hopes of getting a few dollars more (but more likely, a few cents more).  Do NOT give them all the rights to the articles.  You’re going to use those articles again for more income.

Now, after you have done this four or five times, create a website.  Either your own domain name or a free blog at one of hundreds of blogging sites. Make sure you can host advertising on your site.  At the moment, I believe that free WordPress blogs don’t allow this but if you use WordPress on your own domain, you can do what you want.

Create your site using the articles you just wrote.  Apply for an AdSense account and put some advertising on your site.

Next, re-write your articles so that they are original.  You can test for originality at copyscape.com.  Submit them to ezinearticles.com.  In the bio box at the bottom of your articles, include a link back to your new site.

Lather, rinse, repeat.  You can either start on an entirely new subject or add to your existing site.

I strongly advise that you do this with your own domain because if you start generating income, you would want the ability to sell the site to someone else (for ten to twelve times its monthly earnings).

The money works out like this.  For five articles, you’ll get $15 at the low end from Associated Content, if they buy all of them.  You spend $10 getting a domain name.  So, you’re now up $5.  With some minor link-building and article writing, you can end up making $1 or more per day in advertising revenue.  Not a lot but at you can easily create one of these sites every other day.

Now, you can either keep the sites or sell them.  Apply yourself and in one month’s time you’ll have 15 sites of five pages each and submitted each page to Associated Content for $375.  You spend $10 for each domain name and you have $225 left.  And lets’ say each site only earns only $0.50 per day and you’ll earn $225 each month

All because you started writing a few articles. This may not seem like the road to riches but a couple extra hundred dollars each month is money you don’t have right now and after say, ten months, you’ve got $2,250 coming in off of AdSense.

This is a work from home job you can start today.
